Introduction of Ms. Karen L. Delancy
THE BIGHT, RALLY

Politics has traditionally been a job for men.  Throughout history women who entered politics have always done so as leaders not as politicians. Karen has followed that glorious tradition of women entering the political arena as leaders to fill the void left by men.

Some women quickly become politicians and do battle with the men but there are those who remain leaders and with grace and charm lead the men, who follow with dignity. Karen belongs to this category.

Karen brings feeling and understanding to our world of brutal partisan politics. She brings a feeling that we are all of one mother-Mother Turks and Caicos. She looks at ther constituency as one family not as two tribes: PNP and PDM.

Ladies and gentlemen every nation has these women.  America has Hillary Clinton and Jackie Kennedy. Britain has Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana. These great nations saw the value in their female leaders and they exalted them.

Turks and Caicos, we have seen many before Karen.  The Bight experiences her leadership and direction, the Turks and Caicos feels her unifying force. The Bight has risen up and is saying with one voice, as one family- “We demand leadership not petty politics”.

Ladies and gentlemen I present to you the strong caring voice of Karen L. Delancy a voice of enlightenment, integrity and leadership, unlike the depressing political silence you are so accustomed to.
